SIFO KAFO FARM BEEKEEPING ASSOCIATION

Sifoe Kafo Farm is an organization that was established in May 1999. It has been operating under the leadership of Mr. Manjiki Jabang, a full beekeeper with 27years of beekeeping experience.

Sifoe Kafo Farm was first formed as farmers association and later on changed as beekeepers association, through the assistance of Dr Ole Hertz, a Danish beekeeper. Dr Ole Hertz was sent by the Danish Beekeeping Association to conduct a research and during his research; he met with Manjiki Jabang and discussed with him the possibility of developing the association to become beekeepers. That is how the idea of the association becomes a beekeeping association from Farmers Association.

As one of the most prominent beekeeping associations, we produce and sell honey, bee wax, candle wax, soap wax, body cream wax, lotion batik, tie and dye among others .

 

To fulfill our societal responsibilities, we also trained many young Gambians in beekeeping and also hold workshops, seminars for people who want to take part in the training and also organize Adult Literacy classes. Since we are operating in an environment which has been affect by harmful practices, Sifoe Kafo beekeeping farm engages in tree planting, plastic recycling to help preserve the environment.
